AGE UK WIRRAL DOOR KNOCK

Age UK Wirral are organising a door knock in West Kirby in the morning and early afternoon of Tuesday, 16th October.  This has already been done with great success in other parts of the Wirral.  The idea is to make people in the area aware of services that are available to help them should they need it.  This is done in partnership with other agencies e.g. Police, Fire Brigade, Local Authority, local charities and churches.

We will be hosting this event so volunteers will be meeting in the Hilda Shore Room from 9.30 a.m. to be given the information they needed and then sent out in pairs to visit homes around the bottom of Black Horse Hill (as this is the area of West Kirby identified as being the most likely to experience social isolation).

This is a great opportunity to promote our community engagement programme and reach out to people in need so if you would like to be involved please speak to Dirk Uitterdijk, Sue Gladden, Ian Jackson or David Cross.

LIVERPOOL DISTRICT METHODIST WOMEN’S LUNCHEON CLUB

The next lunch will be on Wednesday, 17th October 11.45 a.m. for 12 noon at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool.  The speaker will be Carole Codd who will share “Anecdotes of a Registrar”.  Tickets are £15 and are available from Jill Cumming.

THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY GROUP

The next meeting is on 18th October 10 for 10.15 a.m. in Room 1.  The Group will be studying Philippians 1:19-31 “Joyous perspective” and the leader will be Mrs Jean Woodbridge.

MERSEYSIDE FOR ROMANIA

72 shoeboxes were collected from 29 Springfield Avenue on 10th October, to be sent off at the end of the month.  Also a vanload of clothes, bedding and toys, which will be much appreciated.

I would like a break and therefore will not be collecting goods until February 2019.  Also both Jean and Dave need time to regain their health and I do not like to ask them to organise collection of goods.

Thank you all so much for giving so generously.

WORSHIP AT THE CIRCUIT CENTRE

A reminder that worship is held each Wednesday at the Circuit Centre, Thingwall beginning at 1 p.m.  You are welcome to come earlier - bring sandwiches and share lunch at 12.15 p.m. before worship begins.  Details of the services up until December 2018 are on the noticeboard in the foyer.
