HARVEST FESTIVAL

Throughout September there will be a flip chart in the foyer with some PritStick glue sticks nearby – why?  Because we’d like to have a display of photos or pictures you’ve found in magazines or anywhere else of things in the natural world that makes you go “wow”.  It can be an animal, scene, anything.  Over the coming Sundays please bring your pictures and stick them on the flip chart.  If you can’t find a picture then just write a word.  If the page is full then turn over and start a new page.  The uniformed organisations have been asked to contribute so this can be a real church wide activity and by 7th October we’ll have a great display.

HARVEST FLOWERS

Due to holidays etc. we are going to be short of people to decorate the church this year on the morning of Saturday, 6th October.  You don’t have to be a flower arranger, but if you would like to help in any way (being a “gofer” – making the coffee, clearing up afterwards etc.) you will be most welcome.  Please speak to Sue Gladden for more information.

HARVEST THEME

Throughout October our morning services will follow a theme of “Loving……” as follows:

7th       “……………our world”

14th “……….…..our neighbours” (with a focus on Mercy Ships – not all our neighbours are next door)

21st “………………..…..each other” The service will include communion.

28th  “……………….our God”

MWiB AUTUMN GATHERING

Maghull Methodist Church will be hosting the Autumn Gathering on Tuesday, 9th October beginning at 11 a.m. (drinks served from 10.30 a.m.) and ending at 3 p.m.  All ladies are invited to enjoy a day of worship and fellowship including a presentation to “Wirral Women & Children’s Aid”.  Bring a packed lunch.  Please speak to Elaine Phillips for further details.

LIVERPOOL DISTRICT METHODIST WOMEN’S LUNCHEON CLUB

The next lunch will be on Wednesday, 17th October 11.45 p.m. for 12 noon at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool.  The speaker will be Carole Codd who will share “Anecdotes of a Registrar”.  Tickets are £15 and are available from Jill Cumming.
