MERCY SHIPS

Following the service highlighting the work of Mercy Ships the retiring collection amounted to £413.05.  A big thank you to all who donated so generously.

DISASTER IN INDONESIA

All We Can envelopes are still available if you wish to make a donation following the destruction caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Sulawesi.  Envelopes may be put in the offertory bags or given to one of the stewards.

MEN’S COFFEE MORNING

The next coffee morning is on Monday, 29th October from 10.30 a.m. in the Hilda Shore Room.  All welcome.

CARERS SOUP ‘N’ SUPPORT

The next meeting is on Thursday, 1st November 12 noon until 2 p.m. when the speaker will be from Merseytravel, talking about the help that is available to enable people to travel around.  Home Instead Wirral will be making the meal for us on this occasion.  As always, anyone with current or recent caring experience is very welcome to come along.

TECHY COFFEE

The next drop-in session for help with iphones, tablets etc. is on Friday, 2nd November from 10.15 a.m.

SERVICE AT THE DALES

The next service is on Friday, 2nd November at 2 p.m.  Taking Church to those who are no longer able to come to Church.  Anyone who can join us and help with the hymn singing is always welcome – no audition required!

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX LUNCH

Our lunch to launch the 2018 campaign is on Saturday, 3rd November at St. Michael’s Church, Pensby from 12 noon (cost £10).  Details of our volunteer plans for this year will be given.  If you would like to attend please give your name to Veronica Ward as soon as possible.  If you need a lift please also let her know.

SINGING CAFÉ

The next Singing Café is on Thursday, 8th  November from 10.30 a.m. at St. Luke’s, Hoylake.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOXES

The Christmas shoeboxes from “Teams4U” are now available in the foyer.  Please take one and fill it – guidance on suitable contents and donations are given in the accompanying leaflet, but we are happy to explain further if you have any questions.  Please return your filled box to church by Sunday, 11th November.  Thank you.

THANKSGIVING MEAL

There is to be a Thanksgiving Meal on Saturday, 17th November at 5 p.m.  Come and find out about the story of the Pilgrim Fathers and their early experiences in America.  Crafts and activities for the whole family and of course a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

A sign-up sheet and tickets (£6 for adults and teenagers, £2 for children over 5, free for under 5s) is now available in the foyer.

ADVANCE NOTICE – CHRISTMAS FAIR

This year’s Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday, 1st December from 10.30 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Coffee/tea and mince pies will be available plus soup and bread at lunchtime.  Stalls will include, cakes & preserves, toiletries, jewellery, crafts, toys & games, bottle tombola, charity Christmas cards and bric-a-brac (good qualify items only please!!).

WORSHIP AT THE CIRCUIT CENTRE

A reminder that worship is held each Wednesday at the Circuit Centre, Thingwall beginning at 1 p.m.  You are welcome to come earlier - bring sandwiches and share lunch at 12.15 p.m. before worship begins.  Details of the services up until December 2018 are on the noticeboard in the foyer.

IBRA BIBLE READING NOTES FOR 2019

I will shortly be ordering copies of “Fresh from the Word” – Bible reading notes for next year.  The cost is the same as last year at £9.75 which includes P&P.
