CIRCUIT PRAYER DIARY

CARERS SOUP ‘N’ SUPPORT

The next meeting will be on Thursday, 6th September from 12 noon until 2 p.m. when the speaker will be from Ask Us Wirral – an on-line and telephone advice service covering a huge range of topics such as health, community care, housing, benefits, safeguarding, consumer’s rights etc.  As always, anyone with current or recent caring experience is very welcome.

FRIDAY COFFEE MORNING

The regular Coffee Mornings will resume on 7th September.  Volunteers are still needed to help serve the coffee and wash up afterwards.  Please add your name to one or more of the dates on the sign-up sheet in the foyer.

HEBREW CIRCLE DANCING

Mary Goh has started a regular Hebrew Circle Dancing Group which will meet on the first Saturday of the month from 2-3 p.m. in the Church Hall. The first session was held yesterday and the next session will be on 6th October.  Please sign the sheet in the foyer if you wish to attend.

LITTLE LAMBS

Additional volunteers are needed to join the rota to help serve the refreshments or be on the door. If you are available for a couple of hours on a Tuesday morning during term time please speak to Elaine Phillips or Carole Barnett.

SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE ROTA

Many thanks to all who help serve coffee after our Sunday morning services.  I would like more volunteers as several people are standing down.  Volunteers work in pairs to provide the coffee and tidy up afterwards.  Please speak to me if you would like to join the rota.

MESSY CHURCH TRAINING

A training session is planned for Friday, 21st September from 11.30 a.m. to approx. 1 p.m. followed by a buffet lunch.  Jane Leadbetter, the National Co-ordinary for Messy Church will be the speaker. Please sign the sheet in the foyer if you wish to attend and find out more about Messy Church.  Attending does not mean you are automatically signed up as a volunteer.  For further details phone Dirk on 07847 749533.

SHOEBOXES FOR ROMANIA

The shoeboxes need to be ready for the second week in October.  Please start collecting now and come and help fill the boxes between 2 and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 25th September.

As usual, we need goodies for youngsters from the ages 0-16.  Toiletries, sweets, stationery, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons etc. as well as warm hats, scarves and gloves, plus small toys, cuddles for fun, jewellery, combs – anything which can fit in a box and brighten a child’s Christmas.

MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning 2018 takes place at hundreds of venues around the UK on Friday, 28th September.  Once again all proceeds from our Coffee Morning on the 28th will go to MacMillan Cancer Support.  Please put this date in your diaries and come along and support this worthy charity.  There will be a cake stall – so please get baking.  There will also be a bring and buy stall.

 WHOLLY, HOLEY, HOLY (“Engaging everyone in worship”)

This Liverpool District event (which includes the Wirral Circuit) is to be held at Maghull Methodist Church on Saturday, 22nd September from 9.30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. start and will finish at 4 p.m.

The keynote speaker will be the President of the Methodist Conference Rev Michaela Youngson.  There will be various workshops and lunch will be provided (suggested donation of £5 to cover costs).

KNITTED CHRISTMAS ANGELS

A reminder to please start knitting Christmas Angels again in time for Christmas 2018.  If anyone would like the knitting pattern please speak to Elaine Phillips.

HOLIDAY@HOME

A big thank you to all who helped make the Holiday@Home a resounding success.  Many people came and enjoyed the four days of activities and many more volunteered to make it happen and gave their time and talents.
