ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING

The ACM will take place after morning worship on 15th April.   Copies of the Agenda, Minutes of the 2017 ACM and Reports for 2018 are now available in the foyer.

MISSION IN UGANDA

We send best wishes to Erica Rimmer as she embarks on another two week trip to Uganda.  The group she will be with will be visiting schools and working with the children bringing them the stories of the Bible and teaching them about the love of God.

CHURCH FAMILY

It is with great sadness we announce that Rev Andrew Scaife died last Sunday afternoon.  A Service of Thanksgiving for Andrew’s life is to be held on Saturday, 14th April, 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s, Hoylake. The Committal at the Crematorium will be on a different day for family and invited friends only.   Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat and her family at this very difficult time.

A reminder that Bill Spraggett’s funeral takes place at Landican (family only) at 10 a.m. on Thursday, 19th April followed by a Service of Thanksgiving here at 11 a.m.

Eileen Evans’ funeral will take place at Landican at 11.30 a.m. on Friday, 27th April followed by a Service of Thanksgiving here at 12 noon.

CIRCUIT PRAYER DIARY

Copies of April’s Circuit Prayer Diary are now available in the foyer.  Help yourself to a copy.

GIFT AID

We will soon be preparing our Church’s Gift Aid Claim for 2017/18.  Our Gift Aiders are reminded that they should let Elizabeth Delasalle know, without delay, if there is any possibility that they are no longer tax payers.  If the amount of Gift Aid claimed on an individual’s donation is more than his/her tax paid in the year, then he/she could be asked to pay the difference.

MEN’S COFFEE

The next coffee morning is on Monday, 9th April at 10.30 a.m. in the Hilda Shore Room.  All welcome.

SINGING CAFÉ

A new monthly singing café will be starting at St. Luke’s, Hoylake on Thursday, 12th April 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon.  Everyone welcome.

WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP

The next meeting is on Thursday, 12th April at 2.30 p.m. in the Hilda Shore Room.  The speaker will be David Casement who will be talking about the island of Samoa.

BIBLE STUDY AND MEAL

The next circuit bible study to be led by Marcus Torchon is on Monday, 16th April, 12.15 p.m. at McDonalds, Cheshire Oaks.

SPECTRUM

We are organising a Beetle Drive in the Hilda Shore Room at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, 16th April.  Let me know if you would like to join us on this occasion, you will be very welcome.

METHODIST WOMEN IN BRITAIN - SPRING GATHERING

The MWiB Liverpool District Spring Gathering will be held at Moreton Methodist Church on Thursday, 19th April from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. (drinks served from 10.30 a.m.) The theme for the day is “Trusting in the Promises” and the afternoon session will be led by Deacon Denise Creed.

We will also hear from Viv Beech and her involvement in developing the garden at the Women’s Refuge which is the current Special Project.  All are welcome to a day of worship and fellowship.  Bring a packed lunch, drinks provided.

MEN’S GET TOGETHER

A men’s get together is planned at Wetherspoons (The Dee Hotel) on Tuesday, 24th April from 12.30 to 2 p.m.  All welcome – whether you attend West Kirby Methodist Church or are coming as a friend.  No need to sign up – just come along.  Contact Dirk (07847 039 533) or Graham Gladden for details.

LIVERPOOL DISTRICT LUNCHEON CLUB

A three course lunch for Methodist ladies is to be held on Wednesday, 25th April at 12 noon at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool. The speaker will be Mr Roy Taylor and his amusing talk is entitled “To Travel Gleefully”.  If you would like to come please speak to Jill Cumming. Tickets cost £15.

EASTER OFFERING

A special Circuit Service to dedicate the Easter Offering takes place here at West Kirby at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday, 29th April.  The preacher will be Rev Sheila Prest.
