We send best wishes and congratulations to Matthew Hatton & Shelley Cheung who are getting married here on the 11th August.

The next get together is on Tuesday, 28th August from 12.30 p.m. at the Dee Hotel (Wetherspoons).  Come and join us for a drink and/or lunch.  Last month a gentleman joined us who had heard about it through the internet.  We had a great time talking to him.  Phone Dirk for more info on 07847 739 533.

The morning service on 2nd September is being taken by Craig Price with the intention of making it as appropriate as possible for those who have not been in a church for some time.

There are some invitation cards in the foyer so please take one if you have a friend or neighbour whom you think would be interested.  Anyone else is, of course, welcome as well!!

Please note that there will be no midweek worship at the Methodist Centre at Thingwall during August.  The next planned service will be on Wednesday, 5th September at 1 p.m.

Informal help yourself coffee mornings will continue on a Friday during August with the usual coffee morning resuming on Friday, 7th September.  If you would like to join the rota to help serve coffee and wash up please add your name to the sheet in the foyer.

The shoeboxes need to be ready for the second week in October.  Please start collecting now and come and help fill the boxes between 2 and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 25th September.

As usual, we need goodies for youngsters from the ages 0-16.  Toiletries, sweets, stationery, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons etc. as well as warm hats, scarves and gloves, plus small toys, cuddles for fun, jewellery, combs – anything which can fit in a box and brighten a child’s Christmas.

We look forward to welcoming Rev Viv Gasteen who will be preaching at our morning service on the 9th September. Viv has been appointed by the Circuit on a part time basis to look after the pastoral needs of the three churches in our Group.  Some of you have already met Viv when she came to the Friday Coffee Morning. Viv is a supernumerary minister who moved to the Wirral just over a year ago. She will undertake home communions as well as visiting church members who are in hospital or at home and unable to attend church.
